Atletico Madrid, who lost 2-1 at home to Barcelona in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals after winning the first leg 2-0, advanced to the semi-finals with a 3-2 aggregate score. Atletico Madrid will face the winner of the Arsenal vs. Sporting match in the semi-finals.
In the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg match, Atletico Madrid faced Barcelona. Although Barcelona won the match 2-1 at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, Atletico Madrid, having won the first leg 2-0, advanced to the semi-finals with a 3-2 aggregate score advantage.
WINNING WAS NOT ENOUGH FOR BARCELONA
The visiting team Barcelona took a 2-0 lead with goals from Lamine Yamal in the 4th minute and Ferran Torres in the 24th minute. Atletico Madrid reduced the score to 2-1 with Ademola Lookman in the 31st minute. Barcelona was reduced to 10 men in the 79th minute after Eric Garcia received a red card. No further goals were scored in the remaining minutes, and Atletico Madrid secured their place in the semi-finals.
