In the Kumluca district of Antalya, 18-year-old Hasan Aşgın and 17-year-old Bekir Sarpdağ lost their lives in an accident where a motorcycle collided with a municipal garbage truck. After the accident, which occurred at an uncontrolled intersection, the relatives of the young people experienced nervous breakdowns at the scene. An investigation has been launched into the accident.
A chilling accident occurred around 23:00 at the intersection of Gödene Street and Mezbaha road in Merkez District, Kumluca, Antalya.
2 YOUNG PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES
According to information obtained, the motorcycle with license plate 07 CKZ 938, driven by Hasan Aşgın (18), collided with a garbage truck belonging to Kumluca Municipality, with license plate 07 VHK 29, whose driver's name was not disclosed. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. During the medical examination, it was determined that Hasan Aşgın (18), who was thrown onto the road by the impact of the collision, and Bekir Sarpdağ (17), a passenger on the motorcycle, lost their lives at the scene.
TRUCK DRIVER TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
While the families of the deceased young people, who arrived at the scene upon hearing about the accident, suffered nervous breakdowns, the bodies were taken to the Kumluca State Hospital morgue after the investigation by the Kumluca Public Prosecutor at the scene. The truck driver was taken to the police station for questioning.
Witnesses stated that the garbage truck, coming from the direction of Temel Eğitim District, was trying to turn from the uncontrolled intersection to enter the Gödene Street Mezbaha road junction when the motorcycle, approaching from the district center direction, crashed into the garbage truck.
