In Edirne, on the second day of Eid al-Adha, the torrential rain that began around noon turned streets and avenues into lakes, flooding workplaces. In Muğla's Bodrum district, 15 minutes of rain also caused flooding. Similar scenes were recorded in Afyonkarahisar's Sandıklı and Ankara's Çubuk and Polatlı districts.
Due to the heavy rain and hailstorm in Edirne, some streets and roads turned into lakes, and many vehicles were stranded on the water-filled roads. The downpour, which intensified from noon onwards, turned into hail in some areas.
ROADS TURNED INTO LAKES
While hail the size of hazelnuts fell, drivers experienced difficult moments due to the puddles formed after the heavy rain, and some vehicles were stranded on the roads.
WORKPLACES FLOODED
Citizens caught unprepared by the rain tried to take shelter in mosques, stops, and under the eaves of workplaces. It was learned that the rain, which was especially effective in low-lying areas, also caused damage in some agricultural lands.
Especially on Güngören Mazlum Street and Zübeyde Hanım Street, many workplaces were flooded, and shopkeepers tried to drain the water that entered their workplaces with their own means.
RAIN CAUSED FLOOD IN BODRUM

AFYONKARAHISAR
In Sandıklı district of Afyonkarahisar and the surrounding villages, a sudden downpour quickly turned into hail. Due to the hailstorm, which lasted about 20 minutes and reached the size of marbles, streets and roads turned white in a short time. Citizens caught unprepared by the rain took shelter in closed areas, balconies, and under awnings, while drivers had difficulty progressing on the roads due to reduced visibility. Some vehicle owners tried to protect their cars from the hail using blankets and carpets.
