Vatan Ozcan, who plays for Norwich City's Under-21 team, made statements about his national team preference and future goals. Speaking about his national team choice, the young player said, "But when the Turkish National Team called me, I said 'yes' without hesitation. Because my name is Vatan (homeland). My home is Turkey, my family came from Turkey. I always return there during holidays anyway. The national team is very important to me."
Vatan Özcan, who plays for Norwich City's Under-21 team in the English Championship, said he follows Ferdi Kadıoğlu and wants to become the permanent left-back for the Turkish National Team in the future.

Vatan, 18, who has played 22 matches and made two assists for Norwich City's youth teams, stated that he started playing football at the age of 6, and said, "I joined Chesterton Eagles at age 7. After playing there for 1-2 years, I moved to Milton Colts. Norwich City tried me out for two weeks and liked me very much. I have been here for 7 years, played in every age group, and improved a lot."

Explaining that they have an intense training schedule throughout the week in Norwich and that he misses his family and Turkish food a lot, Vatan said, "I go home on weekends. I eat my mother's Turkish food. I miss it a lot. When I'm in Norwich, there is a Turkish restaurant; I go there 2-3 times a week."
