Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger, who compared certain crimes in Adana for the years 2024 and 2025, stated that the crime of "intentional homicide" decreased from 90 to 82, while the crime of "intentional injury" increased from 7,994 to 7,988. Meanwhile, Köşger was appointed as the Governor of Denizli with a decree published last night.

In Adana, Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger stated that organized crimes are crimes that collectively affect the city's economy, social peace, and perception of security, saying, "We will continue to fight against all forms of organized crime in the most severe and determined manner."

After the "Public Order and Security Assessment Meeting" held at the Governorship, Köşger evaluated the works for 2025 to the press. Stating that the fight against terrorism is one of Turkey's important agenda items, Köşger said that many social activities during and after New Year's were carried out smoothly thanks to the intelligence obtained and the necessary security measures.

311 OPERATIONS AGAINST TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS

Köşger expressed that 248 operations were conducted against terrorist organizations in 2024, and 29 terrorists were arrested, while in 2025, 311 operations were carried out, and 43 terrorists were arrested. Emphasizing that three terrorist acts were prevented in 2024 and 2025, Governor Köşger stated that the fight against terrorism will continue uninterrupted.

6 DECREASE IN INTENTIONAL INJURY CRIME

Comparing the years 2024 and 2025 regarding some crimes, Governor Köşger stated that the crime of "intentional killing" decreased from 90 to 82, while the crime of "intentional injury" decreased from 7,994 to 7,988. Governor Köşger noted that theft from vehicles decreased from 492 to 249, robbery from 28 to 14, pickpocketing from 46 to 25, motorcycle theft from 743 to 396, car theft from 79 to 50, home theft from 844 to 632, theft from workplaces and institutions from 549 to 500, fraud from 1,043 to 1,021, and robbery and looting from 498 to 447. He also emphasized that in arms smuggling operations, 4,866 unlicensed weapons were seized in 2024, and the number dropped to 4,288 in 2025, stating, "This decrease actually shows that people are now getting their act together, and the rate of carrying unlicensed weapons in public has decreased."

FIGHT AGAINST ORGANIZED CRIME

Governor Köşger stated that efforts to combat organized crime are being carried out with determination, continuing: "Organized crimes are crimes that collectively affect the city's economy, social peace, and perception of security. We will continue to fight against all forms of organized crime in the most severe and determined manner. The number of operations against organized crime increased from 62 in 2024 to 69 in 2025, the number of detentions rose from 1,224 to 1,227, and the number of arrests increased from 634 to 669. The number of dismantled organized crime gangs also rose from 28 to 32. Targeting the profits obtained from crime is also a result of this work. The amount of confiscated assets obtained from crime increased from 1 billion 102 million in 2024 to 1 billion 322 million lira in 2025."

KÖŞGER APPOINTED TO DENİZLİ GOVERNORATE
