The process of officially declaring Nevruz as a holiday, announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will begin after the Ramadan holiday. The efforts will be led by Kürşad Zorlu, who has transitioned from the Good Party (İYİ Parti) to the Justice and Development Party (AK Parti).

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced at the March 21 Nevruz Day Commemoration Program that Nevruz will be declared an official holiday. Following this announcement, the AK Party is preparing to take action for legal regulation regarding the matter. According to Cumhuriyet's news, work will begin after the Ramadan holiday.

COMMON HOLIDAY GOAL FOR THE TURKISH WORLD

According to information obtained from AK Party sources, it is aimed for Nevruz Bayram to be celebrated as a common holiday not only in Turkey but also in the Turkish World. Currently, Nevruz, which is an official holiday in countries such as Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan, will be on the agenda for a legal change to gain official status in Turkey as well.

KÜRŞAD ZORLU WILL LEAD THE WORK

It has been learned that this process will be managed by Kürşad Zorlu, the Deputy Chairman of the AK Party responsible for Relations with Turkish States. Zorlu joined the AK Party from the İYİ Party a few months ago and has taken on an important role in works related to the Turkish World.

TÜRKEŞ: WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR GOOD INTENTIONS

Dr. Ayyüce Türkeş Taş, the Chairman of the İYİ Party's Turkish World and Overseas Organization, drew attention to the fact that this development coincides with the Imralı process. Stating that Nevruz represents the Turks' emergence from Ergenekon, Türkeş said:

"Turkish Ergenekon Holiday. It is already proof that we are a nation. We are all Turkish people. Our common value... We celebrate the same holiday together. Terrorist PKK members can try to claim this holiday for themselves and create such separatism. It is impossible to understand the government's intentions behind this. Unfortunately, we are not looking for good intentions because negative and strange things have been happening in our country lately."
