MHP (Nationalist Movement Party) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli stated, "It is essential to eliminate not only the terrorism in the mountains but also the vandalistic mentality in the cities during the process of a terrorism-free Turkey." Emphasizing that every party must be a party of Turkey, Bahçeli listed 24 items, including "commitment to the founding principles of the Turkish state and the fundamental characteristics of the Republic" and "developing discourse in accordance with the constitutional order and legal norms."

The Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahçeli, stated the following in his article published today in Türkgün Newspaper; "Our goal of a 'Terror-free Turkey' will become a reality with this understanding, eliminating the terrorism that exploits our national resources from the agenda completely. Efforts to achieve the goal of a terror-free Turkey are ongoing, and Turkey is conducting activities with national, social, and political diligence to overcome a significant threshold.

This process, in which preferences will be made between either terrorism or democracy, either weapons or politics, also raises the question of how politics and political parties should be in a disarmed and terror-free Turkey, and what they should pay attention to. A terror-free Turkey is not about normalizing terrorism with its past, but rather about condemning it with all its existence, actions, and atrocities, and removing it from every aspect of life and from minds.

"THE BASIC MOTIVATION IS EMPATHY TOWARDS THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY"

True democracy can develop as desired in such a mental and social climate. The political aspect of being a party of Turkey, the social relationship dimension, its reflection in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), and the issue of social reconciliation and harmony must be evaluated with respect to political philosophy. Although being a party of Turkey is legally ensured by being established according to the Political Parties Law, the fundamental motivation underlying the conceptualization of "Turkey Party" is the commitment to the Republic of Turkey, shared history and culture, future vision, and the will to live together, which is the empathy established in this sense.

In this direction, all parties must first rid themselves of violence, completely sever all ties with any armed organization, and engage in politics through democratic legitimacy. Being a party of Turkey means transforming from a regional or ethnically based political movement into a party that addresses a broad base across the country. It necessitates prioritizing the rule of law, human rights, and peaceful politics, and being a party that struggles on a legitimate democratic ground.

"THE HARMONY BETWEEN THE ASSEMBLY, POLITICS, AND SOCIETY IS OF GREAT IMPORTANCE"

It requires developing a discourse that transcends ethnic and sectarian identities to enable citizens from different segments to be represented within the party and political processes, emphasizing Turkey's common values and the principle of pluralism in unity. In the goal of being a party of Turkey, the harmony between the assembly, politics, and society is of great importance. To ensure the harmony of these three components, the representation in the assembly must be strengthened, inclusive policies must be developed in politics, and a comprehensive understanding must prevail in society. Political movements that wish to be a party of Turkey should develop an inclusive, peaceful discourse that addresses the entire community. From a political philosophy perspective, it should not be forgotten that democratic legitimacy must be based on the consent of the people and the rule of law. Thus, politics can evolve into a pluralistic and inclusive democracy, free from violence.

"EVERY PARTY SHOULD BE A PARTY OF TURKEY"

The primary source of every party actively involved in Turkish politics is the Turkish nation, and its affiliation is Turkey. Every party is obliged to be a party of Turkey. Accepting and defending the national and spiritual values of a nation means politically expressing the societal center. In the Turkish political arena, where national stance and common values are at the center, every political party must define itself according to this center.

The establishment, program, activities, and goals of political parties cannot contradict, conflict with, or oppose the founding philosophy of the Republic of Turkey and the first four articles of the Constitution. It is primarily the main responsibility of the political institution to seriously address the issues that have been inherited from Turkey's past and that lead its future into risks and dangers, and to courageously tackle these notorious problems. It is our sincere wish and hope that disagreements, differences of opinion, cold attitudes, hardened dialogues, misunderstandings, and prejudices of a pathological degree must be definitively ended.

There is no doubt that a general consensus achieved on an understanding that views local and regional differences as the richness of Turkish culture and its complementary colors will significantly contribute to social peace and tranquility. In the Turkish century, where social wounds are healed, chronic issues are met with profound solutions, and a Turkey bound by national and spiritual values is achieved, it is our common goal to reach this with God's permission. A medium of reconciliation should manifest in every field and area.

To concretize this framework, the expectations from the Turkey party could be as follows:

  1. Commitment to the founding principles of the Turkish state and the fundamental characteristics of the Republic.
  2. Acting in accordance with Turkey's legal order.
  3. Strong emphasis on common history, culture, and civilization, future vision, and the will to live together, with empathy in both sorrow and joy.
  4. Citizen-centeredness.
  5. Dominance of a political understanding that focuses on societal issues concerning the whole of Turkey, rather than regional or specific identities.
  6. Internalizing national unity.
  7. Not viewing terrorism and violence as a method, condemning those who see terrorism as a method for their goals.
  8. Acting according to national goals and policies in representing Turkey.
  9. Working for Turkey's development, prosperity, peace and security, survival, and unity.
  10. Avoiding divisive, exclusionary, provocative, inciting, and polarizing language.
  11. Developing discourse in accordance with the constitutional order and legal norms.
  12. Not legitimizing terrorist organizations such as PKK, FETÖ, and DEAŞ.
  13. Reaching consensus on inclusive Turkish citizenship instead of emphasizing identity politics.
  14. Striving for the unity and survival of Turkey, its common future, and a strong Turkey.
  15. Increasing political participation, ensuring diversity in their organizations.
  16. Abandoning elements that evoke ethnic-based politics.
  17. Strengthening communication with state institutions.
  18. Ending anti-state policies and discourse.
  19. Carrying out rituals such as reading the national anthem and hanging the Turkish flag in party programs.
  20. Upholding the founding values and Atatürk.
  21. Weeping for the martyrs, rejoicing in the victory of national matches.
  22. Being firmly committed to the will to live together in a unitary structure within national borders, uniting under one state, one nation, one homeland, and one flag, and adhering to the founding principles in the first three articles of the Constitution.
  23. Developing policies for a strong Turkey and a prosperous society.
  24. In short, being able to say "First my country and my nation" is to believe in Turkey together.
