A 96-year-old woman who wanted to cross the road in Konya was hit by a car. The elderly woman passed away in the hospital, and an investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
A heartbreaking accident occurred around 8:00 PM in the Çayhan neighborhood of the Ereğli district in Konya. According to the information obtained, a car with the license plate 42 ATS 948, driven by Y.V., hit Meryem Başsoy (96), who was trying to cross the road.
DIED IN HOSPITAL
The elderly woman was seriously injured due to the impact. Upon notification, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. After the initial intervention by the health team, the injured Başsoy was taken to Ereğli State Hospital by ambulance. Meryem Başsoy could not be saved in the hospital and passed away. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
