Beşiktaş has made progress in the transfer of world-famous Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, whose contract with Liverpool has expired, but has faced high cost demands from the player's agent.
AGENT OBSTACLE FOR BEŞİKTAŞ
The black-and-whites had reached a principle agreement with the 34-year-old experienced footballer for a 2-season contract with an annual salary of 12 million Euros. However, while the transfer was expected to be finalized, the additional commission rate demanded by Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas, stalled the process. The agent's decision to increase the commission request to around 35 percent, adding an extra financial burden of approximately 5-6 million Euros, drew a reaction from the management.
''ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE''
Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı, commenting on the matter, emphasized that following the news of the agreement in the press, the agent presented unacceptable financial conditions, stating, "As soon as the news of our agreement with Salah appeared in the media, the player's agent brought up his financial demands and increased his commission to incredible figures. This rate reached approximately 35 percent. From our perspective, such a percentage is absolutely unacceptable. We do not believe Salah is aware of these figures."
NO AGENT WILL BE INVOLVED
In response to this situation, the black-and-white management decided not to back down and changed their transfer strategy. President Serdal Adalı and his team aim to hold a face-to-face meeting directly with Salah to remove the agent from the equation and resolve the issue. The direction of the transfer will become clear after the response from the star player.
