The family of Mutlu Temiz (43), who was found to have died after falling ill in the garden of a housing complex in Pendik after leaving home saying 'I'm going to the market,' is demanding that the incident be investigated in all its aspects. Father Abdullah Temiz, who also requested a detailed examination of the security camera footage and the identification of the people Temiz met with before the incident, said, 'We don't know what happened in that complex. They found him lying face down on the ground between two cars in front of the complex.' Mother Gülperi Temiz said, 'He left saying, 'Do you want anything? I'll take a walk and go to the market and come back.' Let the culprit be found. I want justice to prevail.'
DIED BEFORE REACHING THE HOSPITAL The incident occurred at around 17:30 on Sunday, July 26, in the garden of the housing complex in Kurtköy. According to allegations, Mutlu Temiz left his home in Kaynarca at around 13:00 and went to the housing complex in Kurtköy. After leaving the apartment building in the complex with one person next to him, Temiz fell face down from the garden wall he was sitting on. It was determined that Temiz, a father of two, who was taken to the hospital by health teams that arrived at the scene upon the report, died on the way.
While the incident was reflected on security cameras, the parents said they want to know what happened in the complex Temiz went to and why their son died. As the police launched an investigation into the incident, father Abdullah Temiz stated that his son had a blood clot in his right leg about 2 months ago and was receiving treatment for this, adding that the events may have triggered this condition.
"WE DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED IN THAT COMPLEX" Father Abdullah Temiz said, 'My son was last working at Tuzla Shipyard for 5 years. Due to my grandson's illness, I brought him to Amasya Taşova. I rented a house there. They stayed there for 5-6 months. My grandson said, 'I love Istanbul' and I sent him to Istanbul for a visit for 1 month. When he came to Istanbul, my son, even though we had no one else, went from Alt Kaynarca to Kurtköy to visit someone there. We don't know if it was a friend or what. This incident happened to him there. He goes to a housing complex in Kurtköy. We don't know what happened in that complex. They found him lying face down on the ground between 2 cars. We think my son was not a victim of a heart attack but was murdered. We want this to be thoroughly investigated by our prosecutors, judges, and police. I want the security cameras in the complex to be examined. When entering the complex, he had written his name to the security guard as a guest; but we don't know which apartment he went to or who he met with. We want this to be investigated.'
"IT COULD ALSO BE MURDER" Temiz, who said his son could not receive the compensation he was entitled to from the workplace he left, said, 'It has been 7-8 months since he left the shipyard. He had about 30 thousand lira in compensation to receive from there. His boss hasn't paid for 5-6 months. He sometimes answers the phone, sometimes doesn't, sometimes sends a message but doesn't reply to messages. He has been stalling for 5-6 months. Did he go to him? Did he meet with him? We don't know. We want these to be investigated. His wife had gone to her brother's. Only their grandmother and my grandchildren were here. He didn't give any information to the children either, saying 'I'm going here,' he just left the house. He was my only son; I have a son and a daughter. My son is now deceased. I want this to be investigated. It could also be a murder here. Our grief is immense. I want the prosecutors to investigate this. I expect support from all authorities. I talked to my son 1 day before. He asked me, 'What are you doing?' I said, 'I'm sitting at home with my grandchildren.' It was Saturday.'
"HIS FRIEND WALKED AROUND FOR 4-5 MINUTES WITHOUT INTERVENING" Father Abdullah Temiz said, 'Today I went and watched the security cameras. I saw my son leaving with someone on the security camera. Then he sat on the curb stone. 2-3 minutes later, he fell to the ground between two cars on his right arm; but the friend next to him is not visible. This friend next to him did not intervene at all for 4-5 minutes and did not call an ambulance. Those who saw it later called, the ambulance came, and they took him to the hospital. The friend who came out with him is also suspicious. Since he came out with him, we don't know what he did inside. The security guard also said that he walked around there for 4-5 minutes after the fall and did not intervene. That's the information he gave us. I also think this friend might have given my son something to drink. Also, he had a blood clot in his right wrist. He had been receiving treatment for this for 2 months. His treatment was ongoing. I don't know if that could have triggered it too. Now, that friend might have given my son something to drink, which could also have triggered it.'
"HE LEFT HOME SAYING 'I WILL GO TO THE MARKET'" Mother Gülperi Temiz said, 'Did someone hit him, did this happen to him on his own, whatever happened, let everything come to light. I want the details. What business did he have there, who took him, why was he called there. The result is suspicious. Why was he called. What business did my son have near the forest. He left saying, 'Do you want anything? I'll take a walk and go to the market and come back.' Let the culprit be found. He had breakfast around 12:00-13:00 and left. I want justice to prevail. They burned my heart; may God punish whoever did it. He was my only son. May God do as He knows.'
THE MOMENT OF THE FALL ON CAMERA Meanwhile, the security camera footage of the incident in which Mutlu Temiz lost his life has emerged. The footage shows Mutlu Temiz leaving the building with the person next to him, and the person next to him holding his arm while coming down the stairs. Temiz and the person next to him come down the stairs. The person pointing to the garden wall signals to Temiz that he can sit. Shortly after sitting on the garden wall near the parking area, Temiz falls face down to the ground.
