After the knife attack targeting two teachers and a student at Taşdelen Borsa Istanbul Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Istanbul, which resulted in the death of 44-year-old teacher Fatma Nur Çelik, education unions have decided to hold a one-day strike in Istanbul tomorrow.

A chilling incident occurred at Taşdelen Borsa İstanbul Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School located in Çekmeköy, Istanbul. In a knife attack targeting two teachers and a student, 44-year-old teacher Fatma Nur Çelik lost her life.

EDUCATION UNIONS TO STRIKE

Education unions have decided to strike tomorrow in Istanbul to protest the violence in schools and the loss of their colleague's life.

In a statement made on social media by Türk Eğitim Sen, it was said, "We have decided to hold a one-day STRIKE in all our schools in ISTANBUL tomorrow to react against the violence towards education workers, demand increased security measures in our schools, and bid farewell to our teacher Fatma Nur Çelik, who lost her life in today's heinous attack. We pray for our colleague's soul and extend our condolences to her family and our community."

OTHER UNIONS WILL JOIN

On the other hand, Eğitim Sen (Union of Education and Science Workers), Eğitim-İş (Union of Education and Science Workers), Hürriyetçi Eğitim-Sen (Union of Freedom-Loving Education, Teaching and Science Services), Anadolu Eğitim Sen (Union of Anatolian Education, Teaching and Science Services), and Türk Eğitim-Sen (Union of Turkish Education, Teaching and Science Services) have also announced that they will join the strike.
