U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. The meeting addressed critical issues such as security guarantees, the Donbass territorial dispute, and the management of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
WELCOME CEREMONY FOR ZELENSKY
Ukrainian President Zelensky arrived in Miami with a minimal ceremony, without high-level U.S. officials or official greetings. This situation painted a different picture compared to the detailed official ceremonies during Zelensky's previous visits to the U.S.
ZELENSKY: WE ARE READY FOR PEACE
After the meeting, the two leaders faced the cameras. Zelensky stated, "We addressed the 20-point peace plan from all angles; we are ready for peace. We can hold a referendum on each item of the peace plan."
"TRILATERAL MEETING MAY BE POSSIBLE"
Trump said, "We discussed the 20-point peace plan. We are about 95% close to peace. Putin wants peace to happen. I believe him. We will reach a solution with Putin. A trilateral meeting may be possible at the right time."
ZELENSKY'S OUTFIT DREW ATTENTION
On the other hand, upon his arrival in the U.S., Ukrainian President Zelensky was seen disembarking from the plane in a short-sleeved black t-shirt and black pants, but he was observed wearing a shirt and jacket during the meeting.
Zelensky had faced harsh criticism for not wearing a suit during the tumultuous meeting at the White House on February 28.
