As temperatures drop across Turkey, a yellow code warning has been issued for 42 provinces; in the east, snow, heavy rainfall in many regions, and the risk of agricultural frost will be significant.
As temperatures rapidly drop across Turkey, a wave of rainy weather that will be effective nationwide is expected to continue its impact over the weekend.
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a yellow-coded warning for a total of 42 provinces, including Central Anatolia and the Aegean. Especially during the night hours, temperatures are expected to drop below zero, highlighting the risk of agricultural frost.
WINTER IS SHOWING ITS EFFECTS AGAIN IN THE EAST
While thunderstorms and heavy rains are expected in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions, winter conditions will once again be felt in Eastern Anatolia. Snowfall is forecasted in Erzurum, Ardahan, Bingöl, and Kars, while it is predicted that rainfall will be locally heavy in the surrounding areas of Hakkari, Şırnak, Bitlis, Muş, Van, and Elazığ. Intense snowfall may be observed in higher elevations.
The rainy system is expected to continue on Sunday, maintaining its effect until the new week.
SNOW SURPRISE IN ANKARA
Rain will be effective for three days in the capital Ankara and Istanbul. In Ankara, it is expected that the rain will be seen as mixed with snow tomorrow. In Izmir, however, a partly and very cloudy weather will dominate in the coming days.
It is anticipated that air temperatures will remain below seasonal norms across the country.
