In the air operation conducted by the Turkish Armed Forces to the north of Iraq, 20 targets belonging to the PKK terrorist organization were destroyed. The Ministry of National Defense, sharing information about the operation, added the note "Relentlessly, without rest."
The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) continue their operations against the PKK terrorist organization in Northern Iraq. Most recently, a heavy blow was dealt to the terrorist organization in air operations carried out in the regions of Metina, Zap, Gara, Hakurk, Kandil, and Asos.
20 TERROR TARGETS DESTROYED IN NORTHERN IRAQ
The Ministry of National Defense stated the following regarding the operation: "In order to neutralize the PKK/KCK and other terrorist elements, to eliminate terrorist attacks against our people and security forces from northern Iraq, and to ensure our border security in accordance with our legitimate self-defense rights arising from Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, air operations were conducted on September 2, 2024, against terrorist targets in the regions of Metina, Zap, Gara, Hakurk, Kandil, and Asos. As a result of the air operations, a total of 20 targets consisting of caves, shelters, hideouts, depots, and facilities used by the Separatist Terrorist Organization (STO), including terrorists at responsible levels, were destroyed.
In this operation, a significant number of terrorists were neutralized using predominantly domestic and national ammunition. The Turkish Armed Forces, which emerged from the heart of our noble nation, will continue its fight against terrorism with determination and resolve until the last terrorist is neutralized, just as it did in the past, for the security and survival of our country and nation. All necessary precautions have been taken during this operation to ensure that innocent people, friendly elements, historical and cultural assets, and the environment are not harmed."
