On the 25th anniversary of its founding, the AK Party presented its vision document containing its goals for Turkey's next quarter-century to the public. In the document, for which President Recep Tayyip Erdogan wrote the preface, a new constitution, a Turkey free of terrorism, artificial intelligence, national technology, energy, strong family policies, and the 2053 net-zero emission target stood out.
AK Party unveiled its vision document outlining its goals for the next 25 years on the occasion of its 25th anniversary. The document, prepared under the title "Second Quarter Century Vision," aims for Turkey to become a country that not only adapts to global change but also leads it.
FOREWORD WRITTEN BY PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN
The foreword of the document was written by President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Erdoğan stated, "In the first quarter century, we collectively built a Turkey that forged its own path. The next quarter century will be a period where the capacity we have built will transform into a founding impact."
FUTURE VISION UNDER 10 MAIN HEADINGS
In the document, which consists of 10 main sections, headings such as "Pioneer Country in the Global System," "Turkey Producing with High Technology and Growing with High Added Value," "National Technology and Digital Sovereignty," "Predictable Law, Reassuring Judiciary, Inclusive Constitution," "Strong Family, Prosperous Society," "The Turkish Century Is Possible with Women," "Youth, the Architect of the Future," and "Turkey in the Era of Green Transformation" came to the forefront. The document aimed for Turkey to be among the countries that determine the direction of change, not merely adapt to global developments.
EMPHASIS ON A NEW CONSTITUTION
In the vision document, a new and inclusive constitution was highlighted as one of the most important goals of the upcoming period. A goal was set for a new constitution that is human-centered, based on civilian will, expands the areas of freedom, and strengthens checks-and-balances mechanisms.
FROM A "TERROR-FREE TURKEY" TO A "TERROR-FREE REGION"
The document also allocated extensive space to the Terror-Free Turkey process. It was stated that the process is being carried out without any mediator, without compromising public order and security. The document noted that the PKK decided to dissolve itself and lay down its arms in 2025, and recorded that the success of the Terror-Free Turkey process would be one of the greatest gains in Turkish history. It was stated that the vision is not limited to Turkey's borders, and the goal of establishing a "Terror-Free Region," particularly in Syria and Iraq, is also intended to be realized.
GOAL OF BECOMING A REGIONAL HUB IN ENERGY
In the field of energy, it was aimed to increase investments in wind, solar, and hydrogen, as well as new nuclear power plants and small modular reactors. While stating that investments in energy storage and smart grids would also be developed, the goal was to transform Turkey not just into a country through which energy is transported, but into a regional hub where energy is produced, sold, and its technology is developed.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND "NATIONAL DATA" GOAL
In the vision document, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and domestic technology were also among the important topics. The document highlighted the "national data, domestic model" approach and aimed to strengthen digital sovereignty. Improving the alignment between education and employment was also listed among the priorities for the upcoming period.
FAMILY AND YOUTH POLICIES TO BE STRENGTHENED
The document also included goals such as strengthening family and population policies, reducing the economic and social obstacles preventing young people from starting families, and supporting women's participation in the workforce.
2053 NET ZERO EMISSION TARGET
Under the green transformation heading, Turkey's 2053 Net Zero Emission Target was reiterated. It was aimed to increase the waste recovery rate to 60 percent by 2035 and to 70 percent by 2053. In the concluding section of the document, AK Party's second quarter-century vision was shaped around the axes of high value-added production, digital sovereignty, strong state capacity, predictable law, and green transformation.
