Former Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Bülent Arınç, speaking about the long-debated re-candidacy of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and discussions on the "post-Erdoğan era in the AK Party," stated that President Erdoğan could point to a surprising name from within or outside the party by saying "My brother." Arınç said, "Could our President not say 'My brother is so-and-so'? If there are those who say he cannot, they will see. Let's end this matter here. Let them lose sleep."
Former Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Bülent Arınç made striking statements that will be widely discussed regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's re-election, which has long been debated on the political agenda, and scenarios about the "post-Erdoğan era in AK Party."
"CAN OUR PRESIDENT NOT SAY 'MY BROTHER IS SO-AND-SO'?"
Arınç, sending harsh messages to those already making future projections and name calculations within the party and in political circles, made a statement that would disturb their sleep. Emphasizing that President Erdoğan will be the sole and absolute authority in decisions regarding the next term, Arınç described those positioning themselves in advance as "fools."
Arınç said, "Let me burst their bubble, if you allow me. Why do these fools keep something like this out of mind? For instance, can our President not say 'My brother is so-and-so'? There are many names from inside and outside the party. Can he say it or not? Those who say he cannot will see. Let's end this here. Let their sleep be disturbed."
"IF HE IS NOT THE ONE, HE IS THE BEST PERSON TO DO THIS"
Reiterating his emphasis on comradeship and loyalty to President Erdoğan, Bülent Arınç stated that if Erdoğan wants to run again and continue on the path, they will fully respect that.
Arınç argued that in a possible change of leadership scenario, the safest harbor is still President Erdoğan, saying, "But if he is not the one and another person is being considered, rest assured, he is the best person to do this."
