HOUSES AND AGRICULTURAL LANDS SUBMERGED
Heavy rainfall last night caused a flood in Alaca district. As a result of the overflowing rivers, around 20 houses were flooded and agricultural lands were submerged. Additionally, some poultry also perished due to the floodwaters. The cleaning efforts by the Alaca Municipality teams are ongoing after the flood, and Mayor Şerif Arslan visited the affected areas to gather information about the ongoing work.
"FARMERS' CROPS DAMAGED"
Mayor Şerif Arslan stated that the hail mixed with heavy rainfall last night caused damage in the district. He said, "The flood, which occurred as a result of the overflowing rivers from the region consisting of the villages of Kalecikkaya, Külah, Mehmetbeyli, Çelebibağ, Kıcılı, and Eskiyapar, reached our district. Due to the floodwaters, around 20 houses in Denizhan Neighborhood's Terminal Street, Zafer Street, TOKİ residences, and their surroundings were affected by the flooding and suffered damages. The crops of the farmers who cultivate in the district were damaged due to the hail and flood."
Our municipality teams have been working in the flooded areas since last night. Thankfully, there have been no casualties, but some citizens' poultry perished. I pray to God to protect us from such disasters and extend my wishes for a speedy recovery to the people of the district."
