The number of people who applied to the hospital after falling ill from eating chicken pilaf served at an event held in a middle school in Kütahya rose to 114. While 113 of those hospitalized under suspicion of poisoning were discharged, one person remains under observation at the healthcare facility.
A school event held at Şule Mete Tetik İmam Hatip Middle School in Kütahya's Meydan Neighborhood unfortunately ended with a sad incident. Many people who ate the food distributed during the event flocked to hospitals on suspicion of food poisoning.
CHICKEN PILAF WAS SERVED AT THE EVENT
According to the information obtained, the incident occurred during a special program held at the school during the day. Students and guests who attended the event were served chicken pilaf as part of the organization. Some time after the meal, many who consumed it began to experience complaints such as nausea and abdominal pain.
A TOTAL OF 114 PEOPLE, INCLUDING 96 STUDENTS, WERE HOSPITALIZED
As complaints increased, a brief panic occurred at the school. Upon reporting the situation, individuals who fell ill were transported to various health institutions in the city, primarily Kütahya City Hospital, via ambulances dispatched to the area and by their own means.
Following initial health checks and records, it was learned that the number of those applying to hospitals on suspicion of poisoning reached a total of 114, including 96 students and 18 adults.
113 PEOPLE WERE DISCHARGED, 1 PERSON IS UNDERGOING TREATMENT
As a result of rapid interventions by health teams in emergency rooms, it was determined that the health condition of the majority of those who applied to the hospital was good. Of the 114 people taken under treatment in hospitals, 113 were discharged and sent home after completing necessary medical checks and treatments.
It was reported that 1 person suspected of poisoning continued their observation and treatment process in the hospital as a precaution. An investigation initiated by authorities into the incident continues.
