Following the drone attack on Nakhchivan Airport, Azerbaijani President Aliyev made his first statement. Aliyev, who stated that instructions had been given to the army regarding the drone attacks, said, "We are not participating in operations against Iran; however, they should apologize to us." Iranian officials, on the other hand, stated, "We did not target Azerbaijan; we are not attacking neighboring countries."

The Nakhchivan Airport in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan was attacked by a kamikaze-type unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) belonging to Iran. In the same attack, a UAV also fell near a school building in the village of Shekerabad.

As a result of the attack, which raised tensions in the region, damage occurred in the airport building, and 2 people were injured. Following the incident, security measures were increased, and an investigation into the details of the attack was initiated by the authorities.

It has been emphasized that the responsibility for the incident lies entirely with Iran. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense is preparing necessary countermeasures to protect our country's territorial integrity and sovereignty, and to ensure the safety of civilians and civilian infrastructure, and these attacks will not go unanswered."
