A dawn simultaneous operation was carried out in Konya under the coordination of the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office by the Konya Provincial Police Department teams against individuals found to be engaging in usury under the guise of real estate agents and car dealers. During the operation, 4 suspects were detained, and jewelry and cash with a market value of approximately 33 million Turkish Liras, along with numerous promissory notes, were seized.
Konya Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch Directorate teams launched a comprehensive operation against suspects identified as engaging in loan sharking in the city center, generating illicit profits.
DAWN RAID
After planned technical and physical surveillance by KOM teams, action was taken against 4 suspects who were determined to have victimized citizens under the guise of real estate and auto dealership. A simultaneous operation was conducted at 6:30 AM, raiding the identified addresses.
GOLD AND CASH WORTH A FORTUNE SEIZED FROM THE HOUSE
All 4 targeted suspects were apprehended and taken into custody during the operation. In searches of the suspects' residences and workplaces, items with a market value of approximately 30 million TL in jewelry, 3 million TL and 665 euros in cash, 422 promissory notes and 5 checks, 384 narcotic pills, 1 unlicensed hunting rifle, and numerous digital materials were seized. The detained suspects were taken to the KOM Branch Directorate for processing.
Officials from the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and Konya Provincial Police Department stated that operations against organized crime groups and loan sharks causing public grievances will continue with determination.
