It has been revealed that the news in some media outlets, such as "MP's son stormed school with a gun" and "Claim that MP's son stormed school with a gun in Aydın was recorded in CIMER records," are completely baseless. The Aydın Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which took action on these allegations, reported that within the scope of the investigation launched, it was determined that the news did not reflect the truth.

A press release was issued by the Aydın Chief Public Prosecutor's Office following reports in some media outlets with headlines such as "Deputy's son raided school with a gun" and "Allegation of deputy's son raiding school with a gun in Aydın recorded in CİMER records."

"IT HAS BEEN UNDERSTOOD THAT IT DOES NOT REFLECT THE TRUTH"

Drawing attention to the fact that an investigation was launched considering the sensitivity in society after the tragic incidents in schools in Kahramanmaraş and Şanlıurfa, the statement said, "Within the scope of the investigation, it has been understood that the news in the press does not reflect the truth and that no such incident occurred. Taking advantage of the sensitivity formed in society after the tragic incidents in secondary education institutions in two different cities of our country, an investigation has been conducted against suspects who caused anxiety, fear, and panic among the public by making baseless, misleading, and false news, under the crime of publicly disseminating misleading information regulated in Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code."

"THE INCIDENT WAS DISTORTED AND TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT"

Stating that research was also conducted regarding the allegations that "CİMER applications claimed that a deputy's son brought a gun to school and posed for photos with the gun inside the school, and that this situation was known by the school administration but no action was taken," the statement noted the following:

"It was understood that the CİMER applications were submissions made after the investigation against the suspects under Article 217/A of the TPC, aimed at acquitting the suspects. Regarding an incident in 2024 at a private school in Aydın province where some students posed for photos with a toy gun that shoots beads brought to the school, a disciplinary investigation was conducted by the school administration, and the student who brought the toy gun to school was given a 5-day suspension. The photo attached to the CİMER application was found to be the photo subject to that disciplinary investigation. It was clarified that the parent of this student is not a public official or a deputy, and that this incident was distorted and taken out of context in an attempt to base false news on it."
