AK Party member Savcı Sayan claimed that Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın would join the AK Party. However, Akın firmly denied the allegation, stating, "There is no such thing."
AK Party member Savcı Sayan wrote that Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın will switch to the AK Party. Journalist İsmail Saymaz stated that he spoke with Akın and reported that the claim is "absolutely not true."
"THE APPROVAL OF OUR PRESIDENT IS AWAITED"
AK Party member Savcı Sayan claimed on his social media account that "a bomb transfer from CHP to our AK Party" is happening, suggesting that Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın will join the AK Party. Sayan continued his claim with the words, "All discussions have been completed. Only the approval of our President is awaited."
SAYMAZ: AKIN DENIED THE CLAIM
Journalist İsmail Saymaz stated that he spoke with Ahmet Akın, revealing that Akın clearly denied the claim. According to Saymaz, Akın mentioned that he was in Umrah with his wife, saying, "How many times have I made a statement, denied it? There is no such thing."
HE WAS ELECTED WITH 51%
Ahmet Akın was elected as the Mayor of Balıkesir with 51.1% of the votes in the local elections on March 31.
