The dream of Alpay, who passed away at the age of 91, of meeting his fans one last time remained unfulfilled. The jubilee concert the master artist planned to give in April had been canceled due to health problems.
The master figure of Turkish pop music, Alpay, passed away at the age of 91 at his home in Bodrum. The artist, whose songs “Factory Girl” and “Come in September” are etched in memories, did not get to fulfill his wish to meet his fans at a jubilee concert.
HE WANTED TO GIVE A JUBILEE CONCERT
In a 2024 interview, Alpay said he wanted to crown his long artistic life with a jubilee concert. A concert was planned for April so the artist could meet his listeners one last time.
CANCELED DUE TO HEALTH PROBLEMS
The concert, expected to take place in April 2026, was canceled due to Alpay’s health problems. The master artist passed away without realizing his dream of returning to the stage.
Musician Bora Gencer, who announced Alpay’s death, said, “May God have mercy on my brother Alpay, and I wish patience to his loved ones and family.”
