An 81-year-old woman who was trapped under a truck in Üsküdar has lost her life.

An 81-year-old woman trying to cross the road at a pedestrian crossing in the Üsküdar district of Istanbul was killed after being hit by an excavation truck.

The incident occurred around 12:30 on Doğancılar Street, where Hanife Güler attempted to cross the road from the park at the pedestrian crossing. At that moment, the excavation truck, which was stopped at the traffic lights, suddenly moved and struck the elderly woman. As a result of the impact, Hanife Güler was dragged under the truck.

SHE LOST HER LIFE

Upon notification, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams that arrived at the scene pulled Güler from under the truck and handed her over to the medical teams. Hanife Güler, who was seriously injured, was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Despite all the interventions at the hospital, Güler could not be saved and passed away.

The truck driver was taken to the police station to give a statement.
