Çekdar Orhan, one of the captains of Amedspor, made harsh allegations against the club management on social media. Describing the crisis he faced after not being included in the camp, Orhan claimed he was threatened with, "Don't call anyone, the authority is mine. Bring us 15-20 million lira, then you're free."
Amedspor, one of the new teams in the Süper Lig, is shaken by a major internal crisis as preparations for the new season continue. Çekdar Orhan, the 28-year-old team captain, made a long and striking statement on his social media account, leveling very harsh allegations against the club management.
CRITICISM OF THE MANAGEMENT FROM ÇEKDAR ORHAN
The experienced footballer, stating that due to his sense of belonging he had left his comfort zone in the past to return to Amedspor in the 2nd League and endured many difficulties including racism during this process, claimed that after the championship he was isolated and treated unfairly at his own club.
"BRING IN 15-20 MILLION LIRA, YOU'RE FREE"
Addressing the public's curiosity about why he did not attend the camp, Çekdar Orhan said, "About a week before the preparation camp, Football Branch Manager Mustafa Altın called me and informed me that I would not be taken to the camp and that I needed to find a club. I respect technical decisions, but the management style was unacceptable. When I requested to join the camp to maintain my form, I was told, 'Don't call anyone, the authority is mine. Bring us 15-20 million lira, then you're free.'"
"YOU'LL SIT ON THE SIDELINES AND WATCH THE TRAINING"
Orhan stated that he then contacted another Football Branch Manager, Nedim Şimşek, regarding the crisis, and he claimed to have received the response, "Don't involve me in this; go explain your problem to the management." The footballer expressed that despite contacting many managers, no one took responsibility, and he was left in uncertainty for weeks. He also alleged that even after being called to the first camp, he faced a threatening approach: "If you don't get transferred, you'll sit on the sidelines in Diyarbakır in August and watch the training."
"ATTITUDES CHANGED AFTER MY GOAL CELEBRATION SUPPORTING WOMEN"
Çekdar Orhan stated that he suspects reasons other than sporting performance behind the attempt to sideline him. The footballer argued that a turning point was his "hair braiding" celebration after a goal during the season, which aimed to draw attention to violence against women, and claimed that he was systematically isolated from that day onward. Orhan alleged that even though the head coach was satisfied with him, he could not get playing time due to administrative pressure, and he claimed that Club President Nahit Eren pressured the head coach during the mid-season break with words like, "Don't play Çekdar, play the new transfer." The experienced player added that he remained silent until now at the request of his teammates to avoid harming the championship race, and he noted that similar injustices were also inflicted on goalkeeper Veysel Sapan.
"IT'S NOT JUST ME"
Emphasizing that he was given the task of calming the fans during the club's difficult times but is now met with great ingratitude, Çekdar Orhan commented, "Today, it's not just me who is being pushed out; it's the sense of belonging and fighting spirit that forms the foundation of this club. They can push us away, but they cannot uproot this spirit from the hearts of the fans. The best response to those who want to hollow out the club will once again come from the Amedspor supporters."
