The CHP meeting in Esenyurt caused cracks within the party. Following the appointment of a trustee to the Esenyurt Municipality, rumors began to circulate that Mansur Yavaş, one of the mayors who did not attend the meeting, would resign from his party. Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş explained the reason for not attending the meeting by saying, "Different meanings were drawn regarding my absence, but most of our mayors could not attend either. Everyone has their own schedules. Our Çankaya Mayor went to represent us." After the crisis that emerged in the CHP, it was reported that Mansur Yavaş had resigned. In a written statement regarding the resignation rumors, Yavaş said, "I do not take the rumors seriously." "I KNOW WHAT PURPOSE THE RUMORS WERE MADE FOR"Mansur Yavaş's statement is as follows: "I see the rumors being spread that I will resign from my party, but I do not take them seriously. I know what purpose these rumors were made for. I want everyone to know that I will not be part of any step that will give the ruling party, which is declining in the polls, a breather or open our party to discussion. As the Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, I am focused on two things: serving Ankara and ensuring that our party, which is the leading party in Turkey under the leadership of our chairman, comes first in the next general elections. Until we change the government and bring a strengthened parliamentary system, we will work as a whole, together with our mayors, our MPs, and our organization, without giving in to the provocations being attempted."
