The possibility that activist Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, who was killed by the Israeli army, may have been intentionally targeted by a sniper has come to the agenda. SNIPER MAY HAVE TARGETED INTENTIONALLYAccording to information obtained from sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Palestinian authorities shared information with Turkey's Consulate General in Jerusalem regarding Eygi's death. Palestinian authorities, stating that Eygi may have been intentionally targeted by a sniper, conveyed that they believe the bullet used was a real bullet, not a plastic one. Palestinian authorities point out that journalist Şirin Ebu Akile was also killed in a similar way in 2022. Therefore, it was stated that Palestinian doctors will perform an autopsy on Eygi as well. ISRAELI SOLDIERS KILLING EYGIIsraeli soldiers opened fire on participants during a peaceful demonstration in the occupied West Bank with real bullets. Eygi, who participated in the demonstration in support of Palestinians and also holds US citizenship, was shot in the head and seriously injured. Eygi, who was taken to a Palestinian hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions. Meanwhile, Israeli activist Jonathan Pollack, an eyewitness, described the moments when Eygi was killed during the demonstration in the Beyta district, which is connected to the Nablus city in the occupied West Bank. Pollack stated that Eygi was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers, saying, "We went to Beyta to protest the illegal settlement unit named Evyatar, which Israel built by confiscating land from Palestinians.". Pollack stated that after the Friday prayer in Beyta, Palestinian youths were surrounded by Israeli soldiers, saying, "As soon as the prayer ended, incidents started between the soldiers and the youths in the village. The soldiers immediately intervened with tear gas and real bullets." Pollack said that due to the conflict, they withdrew about 150-200 meters away from the village into a residential area, and that Israeli soldiers were positioned on the roof of a house at a strategic point. "THE SHOOTING SOLDIER CLEARLY SAW HER"Pollack stated that Israeli soldiers clearly targeted Turkish citizen Eygi, saying, "Two real bullets were fired. The first one targeted a point in the middle. Then I heard the sound of a second real bullet and then I heard people calling me. I ran towards the place where Eygi, who was injured, was lying under an olive tree about 10-15 meters behind. She had a life-threatening bleeding. The shooting soldier clearly saw her." Pollack described how they administered first aid to Eygi, saying, "I put my hand under her head to stop the bleeding. I checked her pulse, it was very weak. We called an ambulance and put her in the ambulance." Pollack said that Eygi was first taken to the Beyta health center and then to Rafidiye State Hospital accompanied by health personnel, stating, "They tried to bring her back to life at the hospital, but they couldn't succeed. She passed away."
