After a group of 30 members of the PKK terrorist organization laid down their arms in Sulaymaniyah, President Erdoğan made his first statement. Erdoğan said, "I hope that this important step taken today on the road to our goal of a terror-free Turkey will bring good results."
A critical step has been taken in the process of a terrorism-free Turkey. A group from the terrorist organization PKK destroyed their weapons in the city of Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. The PKK group, which gathered in a cave on the borders of the Surdaş neighborhood of Sulaymaniyah, came out with their weapons to the area where the community was located.
30 PKK MEMBERS SURRENDERED THEIR WEAPONS
A group of 30 PKK members, including 15 women, destroyed their weapons by throwing them into a large cauldron filled with fire. In the area, an organization leader read messages in Turkish and Kurdish. Officials from the National Intelligence Organization, Iraqi officials, officials from the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government, security forces, DEM Party members, participants from various civil society organizations, and media representatives were present at the event.

President Erdoğan made his first statement. In a statement he made on his official social media account, Erdoğan said: "I hope that the important step taken today on the road to our goal of a terrorism-free Turkey will lead to good outcomes."

THE PROCESS WILL TAKE 3-4 MONTHS TO COMPLETE
The process will be completed in 3-4 months and will be monitored by MIT and the Turkish Armed Forces. Every stage of the weapon surrender will be followed and recorded. It was announced that the umbrella organization of the group, which includes the PKK, KCK, will set up a screen near the location of the ceremony where video recordings will be published after the ceremony.
According to the information obtained, MIT and the Turkish Armed Forces were already taking necessary precautions against the possibility of this event being turned into a 'show' and provocation. It was learned that the issue was also discussed during the meeting between the DEM Party and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan the day before.
