01.07.2022 15:57

Program organized in collaboration with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, Turkish Police Academy.

Anadolu Agency's 21st war journalism training program concluded on Friday.

Twenty-two journalists, including 14 from Africa, received internationally recognized certificates at a ceremony in Ankara, Türkiye's capital.

While eight reporters were from Anadolu Agency's local and foreign news desks, others from Kenya, Niger, Guinea, Sudan, Ethiopia, Libya, Chad, and Somalia also participated.

The 12-day program was aimed at training journalists to work in war, disaster, and emergency situations. The course was organized in cooperation with Türkiye's state aid agency, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), and the Turkish Police Academy.

Speaking at the ceremony, Anadolu Agency's Project Management Coordinator Oguz Karakas said that wars and conflicts have increased in the world in recent years and that these have also affected Türkiye as a result of globalization.

"We have been carrying out the war journalism training in cooperation with our partners since 2012. We teach journalists to ensure their own security not only on battlefields but also in difficult conditions," he said.

Congratulating the trainees on their efforts and achievements, Karakas also thanked TIKA, Police Academy, Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), and Turkish Armed Forces for their support and contributions. -
