The war between the US and Iran, the tension in the Strait of Hormuz, and especially Russia's ban on diesel exports have led to an increase in diesel prices in global markets. The price of a ton of diesel was around $940 at the beginning of this month. Gradually rising, diesel is now trading at nearly $1,200.
ANOTHER PRICE HIKE FOR DIESEL
The surge in global markets is reflected in the domestic market as a series of price hikes for diesel. Another increase of 1 lira and 12 kuruş is expected for diesel at midnight tonight.

Industry sources, in their statements to ANKA, indicated that this amount will be reflected in pump prices, saying, "The boards will change at midnight. The price of a liter of diesel is rapidly racing toward 80 liras."

Industry sources noted that gasoline might also see a price increase, stating, "If the upward trend continues in global markets, a price hike for gasoline may come in a few days."
