Apple has hired additional workers to increase production in India and temporarily operated the country's largest Foxconn factory on Sundays. This way, the company aimed to increase its normal production in India by 20%.

Although Trump recently decided to postpone most customs duties for 90 days, he continues to maintain high tariffs on China. This situation accelerates the efforts of companies like Apple to shift their production outside of China.

Apple sells 220 million iPhones worldwide each year. According to research firm Counterpoint, one-fifth of the iPhones coming to the U.S. are produced in India, while the majority are produced in China.

Indian government officials stated that Apple worked for eight months to plan this fast customs passage and that the government instructed officials to support the company.
