In Mersin, lovers who robbed 12 houses, including the apartment of Erdal Sanlı, the Honorary First Vice President of the Supreme Court, were arrested. It was determined that the thieves broke the balcony windows to enter and carried the stolen items out through the balcony. Sanlı stated, "They broke down the doors of all our neighbors in the building and entered the houses. The homes have been devastated."

A shocking theft incident occurred in the Kızkalesi neighborhood of Erdemli district in Mersin. On the evening of April 9, İrfan Nergiz noticed that the electricity in the apartment's stairs was cut off when he returned home. When he entered his apartment, he saw that his door was open and the interior doors were broken. Realizing that a thief had entered his home, Nergiz called the 112 Emergency Call Center to report the incident.

Upon the report, police teams who arrived at the scene determined in their initial investigation that theft had occurred in 12 apartments, including the apartment of Erdal Sanlı, the retired First Deputy President of the Supreme Court. It was found that the thieves entered some apartments by breaking the balcony windows and carried the stolen items out through the balconies.

THEY WERE CAUGHT ON CAMERA

Police teams began examining the security camera footage from businesses and hotels in the area. Suspects who entered and exited the apartment and were surveilling the surroundings were identified by watching the security cameras. Additionally, the security cameras captured the thieves leaving the apartment with the stolen items.

THIEF COUPLES ARRESTED

The identified theft suspects M.Ş. (21) and his girlfriend S.K. (22), along with C.S. and S.D., were caught in simultaneous raids conducted by the Erdemli police. The police, who interrogated the thieves, also identified the places where the stolen goods were sold. It was revealed during the investigation that the thieves dismantled the motors of the refrigerators they had difficulty carrying, and also stole items such as microwave ovens, electric water dispensers, beds, air conditioners, and televisions from the houses. After their procedures at the police station, the suspects M.S. and S.K. were sent to the courthouse and brought before the duty magistrate, where they were arrested. C.S. and S.D. were released under judicial control conditions.

After the theft incident was reported, Erdal Sanlı, the retired First Deputy President of the Supreme Court, who came from Ankara to Mersin, stated that their summer house in Kızkalesi, where they have vacationed for 40 years, was in ruins. Noting that their belongings were scattered and some were stolen, Sanlı said, "They broke the doors of all our neighbors in the building and entered the houses. The houses are in ruins."
