Arif Kocabıyık, known for street interviews, was arrested on charges of "insulting the president" and was released yesterday. However, he was taken into custody again today following the prosecutor's appeal. The court has issued an arrest warrant for Kocabıyık.
The social media phenomenon Arif Kocabıyık, known for his street interviews, was recently detained for allegedly insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during an interview.
HE WAS DETAINED FOR 7 DAYS
Kocabıyık was arrested on the charge of "insulting the president" after his statement was taken. He was released 7 days later following an appeal made by his lawyer.
THE PROSECUTOR ISSUED A DETENTION ORDER
However, Kocabıyık's freedom was short-lived. His lawyer Ömer Furkan Dağ announced that the phenomenon was detained again, stating, "Arif Kocabıyık has been detained again. The prosecutor appealed the definitive release order by citing two cases where Arif was previously released after giving his statement to the police a month ago. The court that issued the release order rejected the appeal. Following this, the prosecutor issued a detention order himself."

Lawyer Dağ reported that the court issued an arrest warrant for Arif Kocabıyık.
