Unidentified suspects who arrived by car in front of a park in Eyüpsultan opened fire with guns and fled. Five people, three of them seriously injured, were taken to the hospital by ambulance. After the incident, the car with fake license plates used by the fleeing suspects was found burned at the entrance of Kemerburgaz City Forest, while police teams launched an operation to capture the suspects.
Five people were injured in an armed clash between two groups in a park in Istanbul's Eyüpsultan district.
THEY ARRIVED BY CAR AND OPENED FIRE
The incident occurred around 19:30 at Veysel Karani Park in Karadolap Neighborhood. According to allegations, unidentified suspects arrived in front of the park in a car with license plate 34 NLZ 098 and opened fire with a weapon for an unknown reason before fleeing. Upon reports from bystanders, emergency medical and police teams arrived at the scene.
THREE OF THE INJURED ARE IN SERIOUS CONDITION
Medical teams determined that in the attack, B.S. (16) was injured in the leg, Kaan G. (18) in the legs and chest, Kerim D. (20) in the foot, Mahmut Efe O. (19) in the foot, and B.A. (15) in the abdomen and leg. The injured were taken to the hospital by ambulance, and it was learned that B.S., Kaan G., and B.A. are in life-threatening condition.
CAR WITH FALSE LICENSE PLATE FOUND BURNED IN THE FOREST
During the police teams' work at the scene, 24 empty casings were found, and it was determined that parked cars on the street were also hit by bullets. It was discovered that the license plate of the vehicle used in the attack was fake, and the actual vehicle with the same plate was parked in a parking lot in Bağcılar, with its owner unaware of the situation.
The vehicle used by the suspects was found burned at the entrance of Kemerburgaz City Forest. During examinations of the burned vehicle, one pistol and a long-barreled weapon were seized. Police efforts to capture the fleeing suspects continue.
