In a gunfight between two shuttle minibus drivers in Arnavutköy, Istanbul, one person lost their life. The fleeing suspect was quickly apprehended by police teams.
A minibus driver lost his life in an armed fight that broke out in Istanbul's Arnavutkoy district.
KILLED WITH 4 BULLETS
The incident occurred around 17:30 on Urugplu Street in Hadimkoy Neighborhood, Arnavutkoy. According to the information obtained, a dispute broke out between worker shuttle driver Mehmet Tastan, with license plate 34 LAR 691, who was waiting for workers, and service minibus driver Ozcan K., with license plate 34 LDE 633, who was also waiting for workers, allegedly due to a fuel disagreement. When the argument turned into a fight, Ozcan K. opened fire with his gun on Mehmet Tastan, who was inside his vehicle. Mehmet Tastan, hit by 4 bullets, was severely wounded and left in a pool of blood. Ozcan K., who carried out the incident, fled the scene in his vehicle.
Upon the notification, health teams and numerous police units were dispatched to the scene. After initial intervention, health teams took the severely wounded Mehmet Tastan to Hadimkoy Doctor Niyazi Kurtulmus Hospital. Despite all interventions, Tastan could not be saved and lost his life.
CAUGHT IN A SHORT TIME
Dolphin police teams affiliated with the Arnavutkoy District Police Department stopped the suspect, who was fleeing in his vehicle, on Haracci Hadimkoy Yolu Street. The individual confessed to committing the incident and stated that he had thrown the gun he used by the roadside. The interrogation of Ozcan K., who was taken into custody, continues at the police station.
