In the Siverek district of Şanlıurfa, an armed assailant entered a high school and opened fire randomly. In the incident, which caused great panic, 14 people were injured, and it was learned that some students jumped out of windows to escape the bullets. It was announced that the attacker hid inside the school and committed suicide during the persuasion efforts of the teams.
An armed attack was carried out at a high school in the Siverek district of Şanlıurfa. In the incident where there were injuries, numerous health and special operations police units were dispatched to the area.
14 STUDENTS INJURED
According to the information obtained, a student aged 18-20 carried out an attack with a long-barreled weapon at Ahmet Koyuncu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School located in the Hasan Çelebi Neighborhood. In the armed attack, according to initial determinations, a total of 14 people were injured, 3 of them teachers and 11 students.
STUDENTS JUMPED FROM THE WINDOW
Upon the report, health, police, and special operations teams were dispatched to the area. It was learned that some of the injured students jumped from the window to escape the armed attack, while it was also learned that a large portion of the students in the school were evacuated by the security forces.

While the students in the school were being evacuated by the security forces, moments of fear related to the incident were captured on mobile phone cameras.
ATTACKER COMMITTED SUICIDE
The suspect, who injured 14 people, hid inside the school after the attack. The suspect did not surrender despite the teams' warnings, so special operations teams were also dispatched to the area. While the police took extensive security measures at the scene, the attacker committed suicide while persuasion efforts for his surrender were ongoing.
EYEWITNESS DESCRIBED THE INCIDENT
Eyewitness Gökhan Başaranoğlu said, "He was a child around 17-18 years old. As soon as he entered through the outer door, he started firing with the long-barreled weapon in his hand. First, he fired to the right and left, then at the school. Afterwards, he ran into the school. Inside, he shot directly at whoever came in front of him. Then the students shouted, everyone ran somewhere."
