After being arrested in the operation of a 1 billion dollar cryptocurrency exchange fraud, author Aşkım Kapışmak has made his first statement. Kapışmak stated on social media that his earnings came from his books and speeches, and he defended that the accusations against him were a result of an organization directed by his former manager.
"Smart Trade Coin" is a cryptocurrency trading platform where author Aşkım Kapışmak, who was detained in operations carried out in 21 cities against those involved in fraud, made his first statement. Kapışmak stated that he participated in the organizations that led to the accusations due to his former manager and claimed that his innocence would be revealed when his trial began.
"EXTREMELY SORRY"
In his statement on social media, Kapışmak thanked his family, all his supportive friends, and the readers who sent messages, and used the following expressions:
"I would like to express that I am extremely sorry to be on the agenda of the public with the detention issue in question, where it will be clearly understood that I am not associated with any crime when I share the details.
All my followers and friends know that I earn my living by performing in motivational speeches organized by the companies for their own employees and the books I write.
In these works we have done with companies, we have received offers from at least five hundred different brands, most of which are leading brands in Turkey, and I have participated as a speaker in the events they organized.
"ORGANIZED BY THE MANAGEMENT COMPANY"
All these jobs were organized not by me personally, but through the management companies I had an agreement with, and all decisions containing every detail were made by them.
The company's event that has come to the public agenda today was also organized by the person who was my manager at that time, and at that time, I was only told that it was a cryptocurrency company (which, as you can imagine, I did not know even at that time, a sector that many people still cannot comprehend) and I performed my standard routine under the guidance of my manager. (I have already parted ways with my manager from that period many years ago) And as usual after every event, I shared a selfie photo with the audience on my social media as a story.
"MY INNOCENCE WILL BE REVEALED"
Today, the reason for my detention is exactly based on this unfortunate incident from my perspective. I have no connection with the company in question, nor do I even know who the owners are.
As the trial process begins, my innocence will be clearly revealed with the evidence and statements that will emerge.

WHAT HAPPENED?
127 suspects, including author Aşkım Kapışmak, were detained in operations carried out against those involved in fraud through the cryptocurrency trading platform called 'Smart Trade Coin' in 21 cities. It was determined that the suspects made an unfair profit of 1 billion dollars (32 billion TL), and assets worth 1 billion TL, including 177 immovable properties and 61 movable properties, 1 unlicensed firearm, 1 blank-firing gun, and numerous digital materials were seized.
Aşkım Kapışmak, who was detained in Istanbul and later brought to Ankara, was accused of holding meetings with the leaders of the organization under the name of "Education and Information Camp" and giving certificates to the participants, and an investigation was initiated against Kapışmak for the activities of "recruiting people for the organization."
