Thousands of people attended the 26th Bolluk and Keşkek Festival organized in the Ergene district of Tekirdağ. As part of the event, 2 tons of keşkek cooked in 20 cauldrons and meat from 12 cauldrons were served to approximately 6,500 people, and all the food was consumed within an hour. Organizers emphasized that the festival took place in an atmosphere of unity and solidarity.
In the Ergene district of Tekirdağ, the 26th Abundance and Keşkek Festival was organized by the Samsun Solidarity and Aid Association in the Sağlık neighborhood of the district. The event was attended by Ergene Mayor Müge Yıldız Toprak, Çorlu Mayor Ahmet Sarıkurt, and many guests. During the event, 2 tons of keşkek cooked in 20 cauldrons were consumed within an hour.
"WE SERVED 6,500 PEOPLE"
Şükrü Kırıkçı, President of the Ergene Samsun Solidarity and Aid Association, stated that this year's festival attracted more interest than last year, saying, "This year we organized the 26th, it's been a quarter of a century. We cooked 20 cauldrons of keşkek and 12 cauldrons of meat. We served approximately 6,500 people. The weather is nice, the crowd is huge, the organization is great. I thank our young people and our board of directors. I thank all our fellow townspeople who did not leave us alone here. Rich and poor are here, no discrimination. Everyone is together, no line segregation. People who haven't seen each other for years are reuniting. Everyone eats their meal together, prayers are recited, and then everyone disperses," he said.
"IN SHA ALLAH, IT WILL BE A YEAR OF ABUNDANCE AND BOUNTY"
Ergene Mayor Müge Yıldız Toprak also stated that the event has now become traditional. Topak said, "It has been ongoing for years, it has become traditional. We have been together with our fellow townspeople in this area for years, with abundance, unity, and togetherness, and we will continue to be together in the future, in sha Allah. Today is a very meaningful day, Mother's Day. I kiss the hands of our mothers, who raised us with great sacrifices, and bow before them with respect. I hope it will be a year full of abundance and bounty, may our unity and togetherness be everlasting," she spoke.
