Fatma İlçe, 24, living in Osmaniye, became the owner of 100 sheep with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, with a 2-year grace period and 7-year installments. The young woman, who started livestock farming by following in her family's footsteps, described her satisfaction with village life.

In Osmaniye, 24-year-old Fatma İlçe, who benefits from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's "Prosperity in Rural Areas, Support for Small Ruminants Project," is engaged in animal husbandry in her village with the 100 sheep she received.

SHE GOT 100 SHEEP WITH GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

İlçe, who lives in the village of Yanıkkışla in the Hasanbeyli district, decided to follow in the footsteps of her mother and father, who are engaged in livestock fattening. The young woman, who heard about the Ministry's project, applied to the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry after doing her research. İlçe, whose application was accepted, was given 95 female and 5 male sheep with a 2-year grace period and 7-year installments. As soon as İlçe received her small ruminants, she rolled up her sleeves and started working. İlçe, who is at her sheep's side at the first light of morning, is also supported by her mother and father.

"I'VE BEEN IN THIS BUSINESS SINCE CHILDHOOD"

Fatma İlçe told an AA correspondent that she was reunited with her sheep after being accepted into the project, the details of which she learned from the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry.

Stating that animal husbandry is a family profession, İlçe said, "I've actually been in this business since childhood. That's why I don't have much difficulty. My peers can also venture into this business. Since we are young and women farmers, our state grants us many rights."

"IT'S NOT LIKE CITY LIFE"

Noting that she takes care of all the maintenance of her sheep, İlçe said, "We get up at 06:00 for the sheep. My father takes them out to pasture. My mother and I feed the sheep that come back and fill their water. In the afternoon they go out to graze again. We change their feed and water and clean the fold. That's how our days pass."

Emphasizing that she loves village life, İlçe noted the following:

"Our life is not as easy as in the city, but I think life here is more beautiful. It distances you more from social media, tablets, phones and computers. Here you start the day early, but that's nicer; it progresses in a planned and better way. I think such work, living in a village, is more beautiful."
