It has been reported that Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa's vehicle was attacked with stones and firearms. Ecuador's Minister of Environment and Energy, Ines Manzano, stated that Noboa's convoy was attacked by a group of 500 people while he was attending the opening of a water treatment facility in the Caar province, saying, "Shooting at the President's car, throwing stones, damaging state property, these are crimes. We will not allow this." Manzano reported that Noboa escaped the attack unharmed and expressed that five suspects have been detained in connection with the incident. In a statement from the Ecuadorian Presidency, it was emphasized that the attack targeting Noboa is unacceptable, stating, "Those detained will be prosecuted for attempted murder and terrorism."

In a statement from CONAIE (Ecuadorian Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities), which started a strike 16 days ago to protest the government's removal of diesel subsidies and organized protests, it was claimed that the events occurred due to the security measures taken for Noboa's arrival. The statement alleged that police and soldiers carried out a "brutal operation," adding, "At least 5 of our members were arbitrarily detained."
