U.S. OPERATION AGAINST AL-QAEDA IN SYRIA
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated on Tuesday that the U.S. military killed a terrorist linked to Al-Qaeda who was planning a high-profile attack in Syria on October 2.
CENTCOM stated, "Muhammad Abdulwahhab al-Ahmed was a member of Ansar al-Islam, a terrorist organization linked to Al-Qaeda."
"WE WILL CONTINUE TO DEFEND OUR ALLIES"
CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper said that U.S. forces in the Middle East are prepared to "disrupt and deter" terrorists' efforts to plan, organize, and carry out attacks. Cooper added, "We will continue to defend our homeland, our warriors, our allies, and our partners across the region and beyond."
