The investigation continues into the incident in Moscow, the capital of Russia, where an explosive device placed in the vehicle of 57-year-old Lieutenant General Davydov detonated, resulting in his death. Security measures have been increased.

Moscow, the capital of Russia, came to the agenda with a bomb attack that killed a high-ranking military official. Lieutenant General Davydov, 57, who served in the Russian Ministry of Defense, lost his life when an explosive device placed in his car detonated on Tuesday morning.

The explosion occurred in the Balashikha district of Moscow. According to Russian security sources, a large explosion occurred while the BMW X3 vehicle used by the general was in motion. Initial investigations suggest that a bomb with approximately 500 grams of TNT power placed in the trunk of the vehicle was detonated by remote control or with a timer.

Witnesses said that after the explosion, the vehicle caught fire and went out of control, crashing into another car on the roadside. Teams arriving at the scene managed to remove the general from the vehicle, but it was announced that Davydov died at the scene.

A notable detail also emerged in the investigation. According to claims, a post made on social media by the general's son Rafael, who is studying at a military school, may have made it easier for the attackers to reach the general. It was alleged that in the shared photo, the license plate of the vehicle used by Davydov was clearly visible. Russian security units assess that the attackers used this information to track the vehicle through city surveillance systems.

Security measures were increased in Moscow after the explosion. Russian security forces soon announced that they had detected a second explosive device in a suspicious vehicle in another part of the city and destroyed it in a controlled manner.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. There has been no official statement from Ukrainian authorities regarding the incident.

On the other hand, this incident is not the first attack on high-ranking military figures in Russia recently. Last year, Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik also lost his life in a similar car bomb attack.

Following the developments, it is reported that a security alert has been issued around the Kremlin. It was claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed security units to conduct a comprehensive investigation and requested a re-check of security cameras across the country.
