Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz threatened Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem with assassination following the violent attacks they carried out across Lebanon. Katz claimed that Qassem's fate would be similar to that of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, former Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, and former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who were also targeted for assassination. "Qassem was warned that the cost of attacking Israel on behalf of Iran would be very heavy for Hezbollah and that his turn would come as well," he said.
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz made a statement regarding the heaviest airstrikes on Lebanon since the start of the 40-day conflict between the US-Israel and Iran.
“HUNDREDS OF HEZBOLLAH MEMBERS WERE TARGETED”
Minister Katz claimed that Hezbollah elements were targeted in the attacks, stating, "Hundreds of Hezbollah members were targeted in surprise attacks on headquarters across Lebanon." Katz argued that the recent attacks on Lebanon represented the heaviest blow Hezbollah has received since the attacks on its members via pagers in 2024.
“THE TURN WILL ALSO COME FOR HEZBOLLAH LEADER KASSEM”
Minister Katz also claimed that Kassem's fate would be similar to that of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, former Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, and former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, whom they targeted for assassination. Continuing his threat against Naim Kassem, Katz stated, "Kassem has been warned that the cost of attacking Israel on behalf of Iran will be very heavy for Hezbollah and that his turn will also come."
ISRAEL'S ATTACKS ON LEBANON
In a statement made by the Israeli army on March 2, it was reported that sirens were activated in the northern part of the country after detecting missile launches from Lebanon. The Israeli army, which later announced that it had launched airstrikes across Lebanon targeting the capital Beirut, decided to expand its ground invasion in Lebanon, conducting intense attacks from the air and sea.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated in its latest announcement that 1,318 people have lost their lives and 3,935 have been injured in Israeli attacks since March 2. The Lebanese government announced that the number of displaced persons in the country has exceeded 1 million 162 thousand.
