A historical document that emerged on the 111th anniversary of the Gallipoli Victory revealed a critical detail that changed the course of the war. The strategic decisions made by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk by intercepting enemy radio communications once again highlighted the role of superior intelligence and foresight in achieving victory. The telegram sent by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk to the unit commanders on the front line 111 years ago also demonstrates this.

On March 18, 1915, 111 years have passed since the epic that engraved the words "Çanakkale is impassable" into history... The fact that not only weapons but also intelligence and strategy were decisive on the battlefield is once again coming to light. The critical decisions made by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk by deciphering enemy radio communications reveal how a nation in the midst of impossibilities wrote victory with faith, reason, and determination, while also showing that the spirit of Çanakkale continues to live on with the same powerful meaning today.

111-YEAR-OLD TELEGRAM REVEALED

During the Gallipoli Campaign, the orders given by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk continue to come to light. In the found order, it is seen that Mustafa Kemal determined the war strategy by capturing the enemy's telegram while he was commanding the 19th Division. Speaking about the found order, İsmail Kaşdemir, the Chairman of the Gallipoli Historical Site of the Çanakkale Wars, stated, "As new orders emerge on the anniversary of the Çanakkale victories, especially as the orders and contents of important commanders such as Cevat Pasha, Enver Pasha, and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on the Çanakkale front come to light, the magnitude of the war and victories begins to be better understood."

In the order sent by Commander Mustafa Kemal of the 19th Division to the unit commanders on the front, the following statements are included: "It has been understood from the captured radio telegram that the enemy commander in front of us has requested (send rescue ships here) via radio telegram from the fortified position. Therefore, there is a liv, that is, 4 battalions in front of us. Continue the offensive operations without allowing the enemy to receive reinforcements and drive the enemy from their positions. For this purpose, the 125th Regiment will send one battalion to the 27th Regiment as I have previously instructed, and will form the reserve of the 14th Regiment with the other forces. Both with the 14th and the 27th Regiments, the other forces on our left flank should immediately advance to strike the enemy with a swift and decisive blow. The 15th Regiment has moved to the rear of the battle line. The 13th Regiment is also ready to move. All artillery groups will follow and protect the advance of our infantry."

"THE SPIRIT OF ÇANAKKALE WILL LIVE FOREVER"

İsmail Kaşdemir expressed that seeing everything began in Çanakkale gives a different meaning related to Mustafa Kemal, stating, "Especially seeing that everything began in Çanakkale, where he stepped onto the historical stage as the hero of Anafartalar and later commanded our National Struggle, transforms our understanding of Mustafa Kemal. Because when we compare the Çanakkale front, we see that we had a weakness in terms of equipment and materials against those who attacked us, but when combined with the love of the homeland and faith of the Mehmetçik, it brought victories with the intelligent management there. Çanakkale is a character, a spirit where the spirit of Çanakkale emerged for the Turkish nation, meaning that everything is set aside when it comes to the homeland and the nation. The spirit of Çanakkale will hopefully exist forever," he said.

It has also shown how great things can be achieved when the Turkish nation preserves its unity and solidarity even under such difficult conditions.
