RETURNED FROM SHOPPING WITH BRUISED FACE AND EYES
The incident occurred in the Kozan district on September 2. According to the allegations, Muhammed Sonbaş (55), who lives in the Suçatı neighborhood of the Feke district and has a 45 percent hearing and speech disability, came to Kozan to go shopping. After his shopping, when Sonbaş returned to Feke, his family saw bruises on his face and around his eyes and took him to the hospital. Sonbaş, who received a medical report for the beating there, was discharged after his examinations.
Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Kozan Chief Public Prosecutor's Office upon the family's complaint, 19-year-old C.D. was caught on Feke Street in the Türkeli neighborhood. The suspect, who was released after his statement, was taken into custody again after the security camera records of the incident emerged.
CAMERA FOOTAGE EMERGED
According to the security camera records of a business in the district within the scope of the investigation, Muhammed Sonbaş was seen waiting by the roadside with bags in his hands. After a while, C.D., who arrived at the scene by car, approached Sonbaş and then beat him.
"HE INTERVENED TO PROTECT US"
The suspect C.D.'s sister, İ.D., in her statement to journalists in front of the courthouse, claimed that before the incident, Muhammed Sonbaş was around their house and made some gestures towards them.
İ.D., stating that she called her brother by phone and summoned him to the scene, said, "The citizen kept approaching the vicinity of my house. I saw him approaching us and making gestures like blowing kisses, waving, smiling, and winking. Later, I noticed he was taking videos and photos. I went inside and brought my siblings into the house. Then I called my brother. When my brother arrived, he asked him to give his phone, but he didn't. Then a scuffle occurred, and the citizen ran away."
İ.D., who argued that her brother intervened to protect his family, said, "My brother is tasked with protecting us. Everyone has a mother, a sibling, a child. I want what needs to be done to be done."

Meanwhile, when C.D. was being sent to the courthouse, his shouts of "It's an honor matter. They eyed my honor, that's why I hit him" drew attention.
