In an interview with the 'Clank!' channel on YouTube, the experienced player explained how critical it was for him to cross paths with Mourinho, saying, "I have always played on the left wing since my childhood. It was like this until I came to Real Madrid in the 2010-2011 season. Cristiano Ronaldo was playing on the other side, and I needed to find a new place for myself. Eventually, I moved to the right side, and I started to enjoy it. I began to feel very comfortable there, and I continued to play on the right wing throughout my career," he said.
"MOURINHO DIDN'T HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING"
Di Maria, who stated that he had to change positions during that time, said, "Mourinho didn't have to say anything to me. It was impossible for me to play on the left side. We were playing with a 4-3-3 system, and it was difficult for me to find a place on the left. Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain were the forwards. I had to play on the right.
