PROFESSOR REVEALS AIR POLLUTION DATA

Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Toros, a faculty member of the Department of Climate Science and Meteorological Engineering at ITU, also announced today the data regarding air pollution rates in Istanbul for 2023 and 2024.

According to the data announced by Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Toros, air quality measurements in Istanbul revealed a '12% improvement in carbon monoxide levels in 2024 compared to 2023.' The most significant increase in air pollution was observed in ozone levels. While the average ozone pollution in Istanbul in 2023 was 34.62 µg/m³, the average for 2024 was 38.07 µg/m³. Toros stated in his remarks, "We cannot say that our air is sufficiently clean."
