68 YEARS OF PRISON SENTENCE

In its ruling, the court sentenced Kaplan to a total of 68 years in prison for 'Establishing and managing an armed criminal organization', 'Intentional injury' against 8 individuals, 'Deprivation of liberty' against 2 individuals, 'Instigating aggravated injury', and 'Instigating the concealment of a criminal'. The court also ruled for the continuation of his detention; Kaplan was acquitted of some charges.

35 defendants received prison sentences ranging from 1 to 21 years for various offenses. Defendants Muhammet Kaplan was sentenced to 21 years, Adnan Kaplan to 19 years and 9 months, and Fethi Koyuncu to 13 years and 3 months in prison, with the continuation of their detention ordered.

THE SENTENCES WERE UPHELD

The appellate review of the first-instance court decisions regarding Ayhan Bora Kaplan's criminal organization has been completed. The 1st Criminal Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice found the total of 68 years prison sentence given to Bora Kaplan for 5 separate crimes to be in accordance with the procedure and the law.

Additionally, the court ruled that the sentences given to the other defendants were also lawful. The Chamber emphasized that the evidence related to the events subject to the case was collected in accordance with the procedure, that this evidence formed the basis of the judgment, and that it supported the decision.
