'I WROTE THESE WITH A SENSE OF CITIZENSHIP'

The hearing, where Ayşe Barım appeared before the judge for the second time, began with an identity check. The actor Hümeyra Akbay, who was heard as a witness, said, "I don't know anything. Ayşe is an apolitical person, she does not exert pressure. I also went to Gezi, it was my own opinion. Ayşe has no involvement, she did not direct me." The witness Sedat Gül, who reported Ayşe Barım, stated, "I know her from social media and television. I had written about her on social media. I wrote my opinion as a citizen because I saw her a lot on social media and in the news. I have not witnessed anything firsthand; I wrote these with a sense of citizenship." The actor Bergüzar Korel, who was heard as a witness, said, "Ayşe Barım did not direct me in any way to go to Gezi Park. I went individually with my husband, and I did not see her when I went. She had no direction regarding the posts made on social media."

'SHE IS BOTH MY MANAGER AND A VERY CLOSE FRIEND'

The actor Ceyda Düvenci, who was heard as a witness, stated, "I participated in the Gezi Park events for 3 days. There was no direction from Ayşe Barım; I participated on my own initiative. I did not see her there. I told what I had said in my previous statements. I said she is my friend; I did not share these to protect her. I also stated that she is apolitical. I have been working with Ayşe for 23 years; she is not just my manager but my friend. That’s why our phone contacts are frequent. When I need to confide in my private life, the person I call the most is Ayşe Barım. I also decide which project I will be involved in. I decide about my social media content as well." The actor Dolunay Soysert, who was heard as a witness, said, "I have participated in the Gezi Park events many times. I only met Ayşe Barım once. I went to all of them of my own volition. I do not have a general management contract. I definitely decide which projects I will be involved in and my social media posts. Our phone conversations are frequent because she is both my manager and a very close friend. Isn’t it normal for two close friends to talk on the phone?"

'WE HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH AYŞE BARIM FOR 23-24 YEARS'

The actor Halit Ergenç, who was heard as a witness, stated, "There was no direction at all. I went to the Gezi Park events for 3-4 days; we met there; I don’t know if she came before or after me. We went after leaving the TV series set. I have been working with Ayşe Barım for 23-24 years; she has never directed me like that. We make our own decisions about such things."
