As the new legislative year begins in the Parliament, Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, the Kocaeli Deputy of the DEM Party, made special statements during a live broadcast on Haberler.com, saying, "We frequently criticize the People's Alliance, and we will continue to do so. However, when the country has a thousand problems, if at least one can be resolved, we will not leave a hand extended in the air. The addition of the DEM Party to the People's Alliance is not on the agenda."
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly, while starting the 28th Term 4th Legislative Year, DEM Party Kocaeli Deputy Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu made special statements to Haberler.com in front of the Parliament.
In response to the question "Is the DEM Party joining the People's Alliance?" raised by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's statement, "The AK Party, MHP, and DEM Party have decided to walk together at least as a trio on this path," Gergerlioğlu provided a clear answer.
IS THE DEM PARTY JOINING THE PEOPLE'S ALLIANCE?
Speaking on Haberler.com’s live broadcast, Gergerlioğlu denied the claims about the DEM Party joining the People's Alliance and stated:
"We frequently criticize the AK Party, MHP, the People's Alliance, and Mr. Erdoğan, and we will continue to criticize. But when there are a thousand problems in the country, if one can at least be solved, we will not leave the hand extended in the air. We may make 999 criticisms, but we will not leave the hand extended in the air for the solution of one issue. This is our policy. The addition of the DEM Party to the People's Alliance is not on the agenda."
“IT IS NOT AN ALLIANCE, IT IS A WORK OF UNDERSTANDING AND AGREEMENT”
Continuing his remarks, Gergerlioğlu stated, "To achieve Kurdish peace, you need to sit down and talk. Especially for such a difficult issue… A commission has been gathering for months to solve Turkey's biggest problem, but very little progress has been made. In this matter, of course, the parties must sit at the table, listen to each other, understand, and reach a consensus. This is not an alliance; it is a work of understanding and agreement."
WHAT DID ERDOĞAN SAY?
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, while making statements regarding the new solution process at the 32nd Consultation and Evaluation camp held in Kızılcahamam, Ankara, said, "As of yesterday, the 47-year-old terror plague has hopefully entered a process of ending. Today, a new page has been opened in history. Now the AKP, MHP, DEM, we have decided to walk together at least as a trio on this path. We will establish a commission under the roof of the Parliament and discuss the legal grounds of the process. We will reach a very different Turkey as soon as possible," he stated.
